This is what Lake calls a "Completely hand-crafted knife", as stated in his description of the knife. Ron went to China with David Chen, the owner of Cas Iberia Knives. Lake worked with the several craftsmen in Chen's studio until he was able to get the perfection that Ron is noted for. I have a Lake that I bought for $8500 (selling for $11,000 today) several years ago and siting side by side, it is most difficult to tell which is by Ron and which is by the makers he trained. Cas Iberia had a list price of $505 for the knife. Only 500 were made and when they were not going to be in the next catalog, because of only having 120 left, I bought them all.
